Rebel Prism lands in Mexico

On 23 September, Rebel Prism opened at Salón Silicón in Mexico City as part of the second cross-regional gathering of On The Right Track (OTRT). The exhibition brought together 29 images selected through an open photography call, celebrating the resistance, creativity and collective organizing taking place across territories and movements.

With more than seventy activists and attendees from Latin America and Europe coming together, the opening was also an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and recognize the struggles that connect us across borders.

From polycrisis to multiple responses

Rebel Prism: Many Struggles, Multiple Responses and Polycrisis? Multi-Responses! emerge from the same invitation: to shift our gaze away from crisis as the only story and toward the countless ways people and communities are already organizing, resisting, caring, creating and imagining other possible worlds. Worlds that already exist, and that we choose to bring into focus.

Through an open call for photography in 2025, followed by a call for texts and visual materials in 2026, activists, artists, organizations and movements from different territories shared fragments of lives that are transforming the present every day.

Together, the exhibition and the publication form a constellation of struggles. They speak about feminisms and gender dissidence, memory and human rights, the defense of territories, racial justice, migration, collective labor, and the everyday practices through which communities sustain life in the face of authoritarianism, fundamentalisms, extractivism and other forms of violence.

Looking through a rebel prism

Rather than constructing a single narrative, these works invite us to look through a rebel prism, where every image and every story refracts new possibilities.

They remind us that no struggle exists in isolation, that solidarity is woven across territories, and that responses to interconnected crises are themselves interconnected. They emerge through self-organization, mutual care, creativity, joy, collective organizing, acuerpamiento (embodied collective care and solidarity), and resistance.

Coordinated by On The Right Track (OTRT), the exhibition and the publication seek to expand the circle and strengthen networks among movements across Latin America and Europe. Together, they bring into focus what already exists: the many ways movements are caring for democracy, sustaining life, and building more just futures from the present.

Because in the face of narratives declaring that other worlds are impossible, our everyday practices tell another story. A story made of many struggles, multiple responses and possibilities that we continue to build together.
