Bogotá, Colombia — From June 25 to 27, 2025, the Third Latin American Meeting of On The Right Track (OTRT) brought together feminist and social movement leaders from across the region at Fondo Lunaria’s headquarters, in a space for reflection, coordination, and political projection under the theme "Building Broad and Just Democracies from Social Movements."
Over the course of three days, members of grassroots organizations and funds within the alliance shared experiences, contexts, and strategies, reaffirming their common commitment to confronting authoritarianism, anti-rights agendas, and systemic inequalities through coordinated, transnational feminist action.
The first day was dedicated to mapping the diverse Latin American contexts in which OTRT’s six working groups have been advancing, and to exchanging perspectives on the European context, creating a broad overview of the challenges and opportunities facing struggles for social and gender justice on both continents.
The second day focused on knowledge exchange and collective coordination, exploring how the different lines of work interconnect to strengthen a shared strategic vision. The day closed with a reception celebrating the bonds built and the richness of perspectives present.
During the closing session, participants defined concrete actions for the future, aiming to translate the shared vision into tangible impacts in their territories and networks, laying the groundwork for sustained influence in defending and expanding democracies.
In the face of an international landscape marked by rights rollbacks and democratic erosion, the meeting made one thing clear: OTRT is more than a network—it is a collective force that connects struggles, produces intersectional feminist analysis, and channels political energy where it is most needed. From Bogotá, one conviction resonated: democracy can only thrive when social and feminist movements are strengthened and move forward together.
